painful hands

Posted by thackers at January 28. 2007
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
I work as a jobbing builder and over the past two years have experienced really painful hands. The pain tends to be located in the tendons on the upper part of the hands and tends to worsen over the colder months. If anyone has any advice please help me out.

I would be happy to speak to you about this. With hand and upper limb pain it is best to be quite exact about what parts of the hands/arms are involved. It is almost always possible to relate the pain to specific aspects of your work. Are there particular activities that aggravate the pain (hammering, shovelling, drilling, picking? ) Is it associated with swelling, loss of grip, numbness, stiffness, etc ? Only then can you work out what to do about it.

You could call me on 0114 275 5760 - if I'm not here then I can phone you at a convenient time.
