Why use the Work Ability Index?

Workers are reluctant to tell managersif they are struggling to do their jobs. Reporting schemes don’t work when most employees have been in their jobs too briefly to get full legal employment protection, or are in small firms that lack flexible alternatives for them to move to. Too often sickness absence is the first sign that someone is struggling to manage their health problem.
