The SOHAS library is a specialised resource for people requiring information on problems associated with, or the prevention of work-related ill health.

Having been developed around the needs of SOHAS occupational health advisers, the library is primarily aimed at professionals with an interest in occupational health, but it is also open to anyone who live or works in Sheffield and needs help or advice.

The library has information on:

  • Hazards at work;
  • Occupational diseases;
  • Health and safety law; and
  • Safer ways to work and the prevention of occupational ill health.

The library offers:

  • An enquiry service;
  • A limited loans service;
  • A research service (for which a charge will be made);
  • Facilities for private study; and
  • Facilities for photocopying.

The library resources include:

  • Books;
  • Journals;
  • Regularly updated files on hazards and health problems;
  • Videos;
  • Statistics;
  • Research Reports;
  • A wide range of HSE and other leaflets; and
  • Access to information on CD-ROM and the Internet.

If you would like to use our library we recommend that you contact Kathyrn Hindmarch (Librarian) at SOHAS and arrange a time.
