The Bradford Occupational Health Project (BOHP) works with primary health care patients, its sister organisation, the Workers Health Advice Team (WHAT), provides a range of free and independent services for all workers in Bradford. These services include:
- Advice on occupational health issues, including asbestos, medical appeal tribunal representation, benefits and compensation, advice on retaining work including rehabilitation and disability discrimination
- Independent counselling on stress-related illness
- Training and advice services for voluntary and community groups and unions
- Supporting and promoting trade union safety reps and groups such as Bradford RSI Support Group, Bradford Asbestos Victims Support Group, Bullying at Work Support Group

Volunteers who have been injured at work help to run WHAT, and are supported to return to work by developing or regaining skills, or retraining.
WHAT works in partnership with: Bradford Area Occupational Health and Safety Forum; Bradford Joint Training Board; Bradford RSI Support Group; Bradford Asbestos Victim Support Group; Bradford TUC; National Hazards Campaign; Association of Independent Hazards Centre; and European Work Hazards Network.
Firm working links are established with all of the district's unions, and the TUC recognises WHAT as the preferred model of independent occupational health advice.
