"1st Stop" aimed to provide information to general users using an intuitive system of navigation based on the user's situation.This was a pilot project which resulted in a distributed CD and web site containing all the contributed information. You can visit the old "1st Stop" site here.

The limitations that "1st Stop" encountered was the difficulty in adding new resources to the database and some of the restrictions that the navigation placed on users. WHIG aims to address this by making both of these processes more open and accessible. The information from "1st Stop" is included within the WHIG, but is now fully searchable - allowing users to find it in which ever way they feel most comfortable. Then, as a key part of the site - users can both comment on exisiting resources and add their own in to it.

The main objective is to not let WHIG feel like a static web site, where presenting information is a one-way process. This site wants to be a community where users can discuss ideas, share their own and be assured that the information they receive is both relevant and correct.
