Uploading a file, such as a document, presentation, or spreadsheet to the site.
Select to upload a file.Files are another easy type of resource to add, as you can simply name it and then upload it straight into WHIG. This is a good way to include things such as leaflet, presentations, videos, or other things. However, if the file is mainly text you may want to consider adding it directly as a page, which will be more accessible to other users.
- Title: A meaningful title that will show up in the folder and in any search results. A good choice would be whatever is used as a title within the file.
- Description: You then have the opportunity to add some further explanation of the link. Users will see about three lines of this in their search results, and the full description when the view the link. Ideally, you want to tell them what is in the file, why it is useful, who will find it useful, and if they will need any specific software to open it.
- File: Click onto the option "Replace with new file" and then click the "Browse" button. This will pop up a window that will allow you to locate the file on your computer.
When you're done, don't forget to save your resource and submit it for publication!
