Nacro
Nacro is a crime reduction charity that aims to make society safer by finding practical solutions to reducing crime, working to give ex-offenders, disadvantaged people and deprived communities the help they need to build a better future.
Nacro runs pre-vocational and vocational training courses for 16 to 18 year olds, helping them develop skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications to improve their chances of getting a job. It specialises in working with young people who need extra support to take up and complete a training course. Nacro also develops and runs pre-vocational training for adults, providing help with key skills; work-based learning for adults in a range of areas depending on the needs of the local labour market and leading to nationally recognised qualifications; provision under the Gateway and options of the Government's New Deal programme for unemployed people; and vocational guidance and job search programmes, including advice and information on declaring convictions.
