He has worked as an adviser at SOHAS since 1979. Particular interests include occupational stress, occupational health and safety in the steel industry, occupational health policy, and the effectiveness of different methods of helping patients with work-related health problems. He has published a number of books on OH topics and is an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield.
